Spring is the perfect time to get your kids outside, soaking up sunshine and enjoying fresh air. If you’re looking for the best parks where your family can play, explore, and relax, the City of Clemson parks offer some fantastic options. Each park has its own charm and features that make it an ideal spot for family outings. Here’s a list of eight parks where your kids can enjoy the playgrounds and you can enjoy the sunshine.
Twelve Mile Park
Twelve Mile Recreation Area is the ultimate destination for a local "beach day," offering a calm, sandy shoreline where children can splash safely and parents can relax by the water.
The Swimming Beach: This is arguably the best "beach day" you can have without driving to the coast. It features a designated swimming area with a sandy shore that is much more approachable for young children than the typical rocky lake access.
Lakeside Picnicking: The park is specifically designed for long stays, offering numerous picnic tables and grills situated under mature hardwoods. It’s a great spot for a family "cookout" where you can keep an eye on the water while the burgers are on the grill.
Know Before You Go: There is a $5.00 daily parking fee per vehicle.

Ashley Dearing Park
Tucked away in a quiet neighborhood, Ashley Dearing is perhaps the most peaceful park in the city limits.
Inclusive Play: We love that this park features a wheelchair-accessible swing, ensuring that play is accessible to every child in our community.
Peace of Mind: The playground is fully enclosed, allowing parents to relax on a nearby bench while their little ones play safely away from the parking area.
Creek Stomping: Just outside the fence line is a shallow, sandy-bottomed creek. On warmer days, it’s a favorite spot for supervised splashing.

Clemson Park
Formerly known as the "Little League" park, this space has been transformed into a paradise for kids who prefer wheels over walking.
The Pump Track & Skate Park: This is the crown jewel for older kids. Whether they are on a mountain bike, skateboard, or scooter, the track offers endless loops of fun.
Learning to Ride: The flat, paved sections around the park are the safest place in town to teach a little one how to balance on their first two-wheeler.
Kite Flying: Because of its open layout, this is one of the breeziest spots in town. Bring a kite on a windy afternoon!

Dawson Park
Dawson Park is known for being exceptionally clean and quiet, making it a favorite for parents who need a low-stress environment.
Basketball & Play: Older siblings can shoot hoops on the court while younger ones enjoy the slides and swings within eyesight.
Picnic-Ready Shelters: The park features well-maintained, covered picnic pavilions that are perfect for hosting an outdoor playdate lunch or a snack break out of the direct sun.

Earle Anderson Park
Earle Anderson Park is a fantastic "neighborhood secret" that offers a much quieter pace than the larger sports complexes.
The Creek Footbridge: One of the park’s most charming features is a scenic wooden footbridge that crosses a small, babbling creek. It is the perfect height for kids to safely observe the water and local wildlife from above.
The Secluded Playground: Tucked away in a shaded, wooded area, this playground was updated in 2022. Because it's a bit more secluded than Nettles or Clemson Park, it’s often much less crowded, making it a great spot for kids who prefer a calmer play environment.

Jaycee Park
Located just a short walk from downtown Clemson, Jaycee Park is a classic neighborhood spot with a cozy feel.
Climbing Elements: The structures here are designed to challenge motor skills and coordination with unique nets and bars.
Walkability: It’s the perfect stop after lunch and shopping on College Avenue.

Rotary Park
Perfect for those "we only have 30 minutes" windows, Rotary Park is a compact park that packs a punch.
The Jungle Gym: The equipment here is focused on climbing and agility, perfect for kids who love to scale things.
Natural Shade: Unlike many newer parks, Rotary is surrounded by mature trees that provide a natural canopy, keeping the slides from getting too hot in the afternoon sun.

Nettles Park
If your kids live for team sports and wide-open spaces, Nettles is your destination. As the city’s primary athletic complex, it feels high-energy and full of life.
Playground: A modern structure that accommodates everyone from wobbly toddlers to adventurous elementary students.
Pickleball & Tennis: With the pickleball craze hitting Clemson, these courts are a great spot for a family match.
Fields of Fun: When games aren't scheduled, the baseball diamonds and soccer fields are perfect for a game of tag or practicing your kick.
