Licklog and Pigpen Falls

Lick Log Creek
Mountain Rest, SC 29644

There are two sets of falls a quarter of a mile apart: The 80′ Licklog Falls and the 25′ Pigpen Falls. Licklog Creek flows into Pigpen as two, long divided veils that empty into a sandy pool. Farther down the trail is the first Licklog Falls, a 1-tiered, 30′ falls with a swimming hole. Fifty yards down the trail is the second section, a 50′ falls that dumps into the Chattooga River. The hike to Licklog Falls is easy but the descent to the base of the falls is difficult.

Directions: N of Walhalla on Hwy. 28 for 8.4 miles; right on Hwy. 107 for 3 miles; left on Village Creek Road for 1.7 miles; right on Nicholson Ford Road for 2 miles; park on the right.
