Whether you are looking to fill an hour or an entire afternoon, Duke Energy’s World of Energy education center has plenty to keep you entertained. The World of Energy is located next to Duke Energy’s Oconee Nuclear Station, one of the largest nuclear power plants in the United States. Open to the public for nearly 50 years, the World of Energy offers a series of interactive, hands-on exhibits, including a self-guided tour of the Story of Energy.

Learn about the various ways electricity can be produced from water, coal, nuclear fuel and renewables, and take a closer look into the safe and reliable operation of Oconee Nuclear Station. The education center also features an outdoor butterfly garden, nature trail and picnic shelter, located along the beautiful shores of Lake Keowee.

The World of Energy is proud to host free events throughout the year for the community, such as outdoor movie nights, National Hunting and Fishing Day, the Festival of Trees and more. Be sure to check out the World of Energy’s website to find upcoming events.
